Joy Drive

Capstone | 2017

Project Overview

Even with the best intentions, grocery stores and other related businesses create vast amounts of food waste in the distribution cycle due to refused goods that are still safe and nutritious. Unfortunately, the rejected shipments are often thrown away. This scenario results in a missed opportunity of providing quality food to those in need.

Journey Map

After speaking with Mr. Freeman, I formed a better understanding of what the experience and process was like to donate unaccepted goods as well as how rejected shipments impacted a drivers entire schedule. The following images illustrate these processes.

Ideation

  • Wireframing

Wireframing

After researching, I began wireframing possible solutions to easily navigate truck drivers to donation sites when a shipment was declined. The following section displays the multitude of methods I explored before landing on a single solution and architecture.

Demo Video

After evaluated all the wireframes, high fidelity screens and a demo video were created. The video explains how the app would integrate into a truck drivers day-to-day.
